I strive to place a focus on people over place. I prefer for the people in my images to to be the most interesting part of the photograph. However, pretty places abound all over Tampa and it’s fun to adjust the feel of the session to the place you choose to be photographed.
I am happy to go anywhere you’d like! You do not have to stick to this list. However, here are some places that I shoot often, that I know photograph well and offer variety….
BALLAST POINT PARK
Brick roads, a small pier (*Please note the large, main, gray pier is still closed from the 2024 hurricanes), and a view of downtown. Plus, an open area with big oak trees and lots of drippy moss.
Note: Less crowded (and easier parking) on weekdays.
BAYSHORE BLVD
A classic Tampa backdrop for your photos. Lovely views along the bay and great to pair with a stroll down a Hyde Park street as well. Best suited for sessions without children, or with children who can be trusted to stay out of traffic. Aka, little babies, or older kids, but stressful with littles who like to take off!
CURTIS HIXON PARK
A more modern, clean-lined park on the river with the colorful children’s museum and a view of UT across the river. Lots of variety here! The fountains and palm trees. A view of downtown, or toward the minarets of the University of Tampa, across the river. It can have a green park look, or the lean modern in the all white amphitheater.

CYPRESS POINT PARK
A large park (please note: lots of walking here) with a beach, tall grasses, and a small boardwalk. Best at sunset. *Also, PLEASE do not skimp on the bug spray for this one.
DAVIS ISLAND BEACH
A small beach area with light sand and some green space too! Overlooks the Davis Island Yacht Club boat basin. Especially nice at sunset. It’s a small area, and weekends can get crowded, so it’s best on weekdays. It doesn’t look like much to the eye, but photographs so well!
FRED BALL PARK
Park with oaks, palms and space for kids to run, plus a cute, little gray and white gazebo. Easy parking. Also has access to Bayshore Blvd. (Bayshore is optional with this location. Only to be used if your kids are at an age where they are safe being adjacent to a large, busy road.)
HYDE PARK VILLAGE
Neighborhood-look with trees and grass, but also store-fronts and fences, steps and fountains.
Note: Best for weekday sessions when it’s more quiet with less shoppers and diners walking around.
MARJORIE PARK MARINA
A small marina on Davis Island with a cute, Spanish-style boat house and docked sailboats. Also a view to downtown.
SWANN CIRCLE PARK
Park with old growth oaks and grass, and space for kids to run. Easy Parking.
THE UNIVERSITY OF TAMPA
Green, lush landscaping, historic, brick buildings with pretty woodwork, cut glass, and a view of downtown. Great spot for large, extended family sessions.
NOTE: Best for sessions after 5 PM on weekdays, or on weekends, when parking is open to the public.

IN-STUDIO
Bright, white, and air-conditioned! Great for baby milestone sessions, for consistency throughout the year, or for personality portraits of kids of all ages. A simple, neutral backdrop for you to shine.
Located near Cypress Point Park, just south of the airport. Please note this is a studio space I share with three other photographers, so it is subject to availability. Let me know if you’d like a studio session so I can confirm availability and reserve the space for your shoot!
