tampa babies

after finishing the rice pudding 101 class with tia, the three of us (my mom, tia, and i) headed over to our close family friends, the coxes/williams, to meet their newest member, 6 week-old charlie.

charlie is a freakishly good baby. his mom, anne, has never even heard him cry for over 60 seconds at a time.  and he certainly didn’t make a single peep the 1-1/2 hours we were there, even though he was awake pretty much the whole time!
michael and i are going to spend the next 5 years doing good deeds to build up enough karma to have such a baby.
after a really good lunch provided by anne’s mom, sue, and dessert (rice pudding, duh) we moved over just a notch on the circle of life to hang out with my favorite niece, 6 month-old maddie, for a quick visit before she headed out with the rest of the family to alabama to visit her dad’s side of the family and to cheer on the gators at the florida-mississippi game.

i think maddie was concerned about taking on her first ever fight because she was certainly very serious with us. this was the standard look for almost our whole visit:

we made funny faces and she did this:

we made goofy noises and she did this:

we bounced and bounced her and she did this:

but then her dad, joey, came to the rescue and made sure we got a smile before we wrapped up our tampa-baby-circuit.
