i grew up in tampa, florida, the oldest of three, and attended the same elementary, middle, and high schools as my mother and the rest of our large extended family. in my freshman year at h. b. plant high school i met a boy named michael in spanish class who i dated for 8 years until we married in 2008. after high school, i headed to gainesville, florida and graduated from the university of florida in 2007, sleep deprived and overworked, and with a degree in interior design. two days after graduation, michael and i hopped over the pond and backpacked europe for two months, visiting ten countries in all, and came home with thousands of photographs and wonderful memories.
once back stateside, we drove to california where we would live and work in los angeles for the next three years. i showed up for work everyday at a corporate interior design firm downtown, but spent my nights and weekends photographing and photoshopping and blog stalking photographers. by the time we were ready to leave los angeles i knew i’d be leaving interior design as well. michael and i took this transition time in our lives to, again, explore the world and spent three months backpacking through argentina, chile, bolivia, and peru before settling back into the lives we were always meant to lead, back where it all began, in tampa, florida. we hope in a few years from now we'll have the house and the family we look forward to, but for now we are happily making ends meet while chasing our dreams.
i am so happy we are where we are, and to be doing what i’m doing.
i love photography. i hold the photographs of my life as one of my most valued, irreplaceable, and loved possessions, and i hope you do the same. i'd love to help you create fresh, lovely, joyful images to mark the milestones of your life.
